Positive results mean a better UW and a better world
WISIMCO’s goal is to maximize the impact of philanthropic, endowment gifts made to UWF for the benefit of UW–Madison. Through generous donor gifts, UWF helps ensure a UW education is possible for tens of thousands of students each year. These gifts to UWF also aid in the recruitment and research of some of the world’s leading minds, supporting faculty members across every college, school, and program at the university. The collective endowment managed by WISIMCO builds the foundation for groundbreaking discoveries and advancements.

Student Minded
The work WISIMCO does directly impacts the student experience by generating returns from donor gifts to support financial aid initiatives such as Bucky’s Tuition Promise, scholarships, graduate fellowships, student emergency funds, and more. Through the work of WISIMCO, the UWF endowment generated $28.2 million for undergraduate and $13.2 million for graduate student support in fiscal year 2024.

Research Driven
Through effective management of the endowment, WISIMCO provides financial resources necessary for UW–Madison to remain one of the world’s leading research institutions. WISIMCO investment of UWF’s endowment resulted in $43 million generated in fiscal year 2024 in support of university research and related programs.

Faculty Focused
Through investment of UWF’s over 700 individual endowed faculty support funds, WISIMCO generated $45.3 million dedicated to faculty efforts in fiscal year 2024. WISIMCO’s work continues to support the commitment of UWF and UW-Madison to recruiting and retaining esteemed faculty members.
Impact of Gifts
The University of Wisconsin–Madison is one of the world’s leading research universities. This incredible achievement is made possible through the generosity of alumni, friends, and donors to UWF. Gifts made to UWF for the benefit of UW–Madison go toward student scholarships, research and innovation, faculty recruitment and retention, the educational experience, and more. Gifts can be made through the University of Wisconsin Foundation, the official fundraising and gift-receiving organization for UW–Madison. The overwhelming majority of endowment gifts are designated to financially sponsor specific scholarships, fellowships, professorships, or research.
